2023 | PROJECTS

OPERA DEBUT

My debut OPERA, entitled Kaleidoscope is set to premiere in Summer 2024. The work is an original Science-Fiction story of mine, ​in collaboration with Facing West Shadows (San Francisco, CA)​.

CLARINET COMMISSIONS

New pieces for clarinet out in 2023:
1. Galileo Beholds the Ringed Planet | for basset horn and piano. Commissioned by Dr. Keith S. Northover. Dr. Northover will premiere the work at the 50th Anniversary ClarinetFest in Denver, CO in July.
2. Concert Piece | for clarinet and chamber winds, commissioned by Dr. Leslie Hicken and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. I will premiere the work with the GSO (South Carolina) in May 2024.
3. Spin, Spin, Spin | for clarinet quartet. and chamber winds, commissioned by the United States Air Force Academy Band Clarinet Quartet. The group premiered Spin, Spin, Spin in December 2022 and is making a studio recording to be released in Spring 2023. They will also perform the work at ClarinetFest 2023 in Denver, CO.
4. Carmichael Etudes | for clarinet solo. Commissioned by Dr. Kylie Stultz-Dessent, this collection of etudes is a homage to the great Indiana songwriter, Hoagy Carmichael. Dr. Stultz-Dessent will include these pieces on her debut album, Homegoing, in Fall 2023/Spring 2024.
